Communication module SIM-EM Reader GSM is a telemetry controller for energy metering units. The communication module SIM-EM Reader GSM provides connection of electricity meters, heat meters and other equipment to the GSM/GPRS network and integration into the Automatic Energy Metering System. The SIM-EM Reader GSM Communication Module has a built-in GSM modem. The communication module SIM-EM Reader GSM is made in a plastic case for mounting on a DIN rail. The top cover can be easily removed to access the SIM card.
How it works:
Transparent Mode
The communication module SIM-EM Reader GSM provides polling of the meter in a transparent mode. After power up, EMReader registers itself in the GPRS network and listens on the specified TCP port. When a client connects to this port, all data received from the client is redirected to the RS232/RS485 interface. Similarly, all received data from the counter is redirected to the client. The transmitted data is not processed. If there is no data from the client during the timeout, EMReader disconnects the connection.
Active Mode
The communication module SIM-EM Reader GSM can also independently interrogate the meter and send data to the server. To do this, you must specify the type of electricity meter, enable polling, and set the polling period. You also need to specify the IP addresses and ports of the– up to 4 IPs. Data is sent using UDP datagrams in the VFCP protocol format.
